Venom Movie Might Exist In The Same Universe As The Spidey Reboot

The producers of The Amazing Spider-Man say Sony’s planned Venom movie just might exist within the same universe as the Spidey reboot, thus leaving the possibility of crossover movies. The Venom movie will be a Eddie Brock story, so no Peter Parker story.

As my friends on the Nerdpocalypse podcast pointed out that a Venom movie can not work out without Spider-man being in the movie, so how will it work out? Can It Work out? Well, if they follow a certain spin-off comic book called Venom: Lethal Protector. which I hope to god that they go that route.. but by other reports that pseudo science becomes science (in other words, no bullshit silly stuff) then the chances are slim. But if they create a bullshit story with made up villains.. hell to the fucking no.

But then again, how can this work? How Venom became Venom is by the secret wars arc in the 80’s, and the symbiote was in Peter Parker at the time. So how can this work without COMPLETELY changing the origin story (which I despise the whole business of it). Sorry folks, this movie has to be made AFTER a sequel to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.

But I do like that they got the guy from Chronicle (Josh Trank) to direct this film. So that’s a step in the right direction.

  1. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
